If your club is affiliated to Lacrosse Scotland, then Lacrosse Scotland can act as a suitability decision-maker in PVG applications. Lacrosse Scotland is registered with the Volunteer Scotland Disclosure Services (VSDS) to access, submit and manage free PVG checks for volunteers.
PVG checks are now completed online following the below simple steps:
- A Lacrosse Scotland affiliated club should email admin@nulllacrossescotland.com with the following details;
– Full Name of the club member(s) that requires a PVG
– Their home address
– Their email address
– The role they will be undertaking
– Whether the member is an Existing or New PVG scheme member - The applicant will also need to complete the “Consent to share” form which allows Lacrosse Scotland to share details of the results of the PVG check with the club.
- An ID check will be arranged with the individual via a signatory requiring a photographic proof of ID and proof of address via a Google Meet session. Either a 1:1 session will be arranged, or the individual will be invited to a ‘drop in’ session, where there are multiple applicants.
- The Lead/Additional Signatory will complete the VSDS PVG Online Application Portal.
- The applicant will receive an email from Disclosure Scotland (DS) containing a unique link to access their form. The applicant will have 10 days to complete the application
- Applicant completes personal information via email link, submitted directly to DS. Note Lacrosse Scotland does not receive a notification that a link has expired. If a new link is required, applicants should contact admin@nulllacrossescotland.com.
- Applicants will need to create a ScotAccount to complete the application and view their result.
- Applicants should complete all required steps, ensuring that the information provided matches that submitted during the ID document verification process.
- Applicants must also ensure they hit the share button so that Lacrosse Scotland can view the result and make a suitability decision
- Once the form is submitted, the applicant will receive a confirmation email. Lacrosse Scotland will also receive confirmation.
- Disclosure checks undertaken by DS.
- The applicant will be notified by email from DS either that their online result is ready or that they have further steps to complete. Results can be viewed via the ScotAccount.
- Once the certificate has been processed, Lacrosse Scotland will receive an email from DS stating that it is ready to be viewed (note permission must be given by the applicant to share the result). Lacrosse Scotland will check the result, make a suitability decision and log the relevant details.
- Lacrosse Scotland will communicate the suitability decision to the club and file the PVG securely for the applicant. If the applicant wishes to move club, he or she can contact Lacrosse Scotland to communicate the suitability decision to the new club.
