Champions – 4th consecutive year

Strathblane Primary School were crowned Scottish Pop Lacrosse Champions for the 4th consecutive year at this year’s Scottish Pop Lacrosse Tournament which was held at Balfron High School on 10th May 2019.

The top 3 teams from the Central Scotland region (Strathblane, Drymen and Killearn) and top 3 from the Dumfries and Galloway region (Newington, Kirkpatrick Fleming and Lochrutton) competed in the national event.

Strathblane Primary will now represent Scotland at the British Pop Lacrosse Championships at the English Institute for Sport in Sheffield on 23rd June.

Mrs Danii Bairner, Strathblane Primary’s lacrosse coach and P7 teacher said, “We are very proud of our school lacrosse team. They commit to several hours of training every week and their hard work and determination has paid off. The team is very excited to go on to represent Scotland at the British Lacrosse Championships in June for a 4th consecutive year.

The Lacrosse Scotland Board would like to extend our congratulations to all the teams who took part in the Scottish Pop Lacrosse Championship, but especially to Strathblane Primary School for retaining the title …. again. We would like to wish them the very best of luck at the British Lacrosse Championships and hope that they all have a wonderful, unforgettable experience.

After winning their semi-final matches, Strathblane and Killearn competed in the final match.
