WOMENS > Home Scots

Home Scots is a representative team for lacrosse players living and playing in Scotland. It provides matchplay experience at a high level (territorial reserve tournament, territorial matches) for a variety of players, from those who have been capped for Scotland at Senior level, to those just starting out on Senior lacrosse for the first time. It has proved to be an important learning opportunity for young players and a very enjoyable experience for those training to achieve excellence.

Eligibility

You are eligible to represent Home Scots if you EITHER currently live in Scotland (that includes at University) OR play for a Scottish club. In the second half of the season, Home Scots teams can also be selected from those players in the Senior National Training Squad who are not playing in an English Territory.

Selection

Players wishing to be considered for Home Scots should put their names forward before or at the Preliminary Trials in September. Other players who are brought to the attention of the coaches or selectors before the final trials may be invited to attend based on their performances at other events, for example at the Development Days, in the Clubs Tournament, the Scottish Universities Tournament or league matches. Following the Final Trials a Home Scots Training Squad (approx 24 players) will be selected and a playing squad of 16(18) plus reserves for each Home Scots Event will be selected.

Commitment

Home Scots players have improved their standard of play, while enjoying playing lacrosse and gaining Territorial experience. Individuals give different levels of personal commitment to lacrosse and to different squads. Please be honest and indicate what is possible for you at the outset. Non-availability for one of the events does not necessarily mean that you can not be considered. SNTS players will have first priority for selection in the second half of the season.
