Sunday 24th November @ St Andrews
A Mens Rules and Refereeing Course is being run on Sunday 24th November. Registration is at 09:30 and the course will run between 10:00 and 16:30. We will have a certified tutor with experience of officiating at the very highest level. The format is an overview of rules, guidance on the practical elements of refereeing, ending with an opportunity to take the Level 1 Exam, which is a multiple choice exam paper.
Cost:
Thanks to contributions from both the "Reffin Brilliant" student officials scheme, and the Lacrosse Scotland Rathbones fund, we are able to offer this course at 10 GBP per person. This is significantly less than the going rate if you attend the same course anywhere else.
Please circulate the information on this course to the players and officials in your team, and let me know how many people you will be sending. There will be a limit on the total number of attendees, and it is first-come, first-served. Please contact Rob Powell
(referees@lacrossescotland.com) for more information and to book your clubs place.

Why every club needs to send people on the course -
Clubs taking part in the Scottish League and Premiership:
Each team must supply one qualified referee at every league match.
After the course has been run, teams will be fined a point for every match if they do not provide a qualified referee.
Universities taking part in BUCS:
"As per REG LAC 6.2.2 all institutions are required to submit to BUCS the names of at least TWO officials qualified to officiate in matches."
These have to be members of your club, not neutral officials. If you do not have them, BUCS will also deduct points!
Attending the course will help players understand the game better.
And the more bodies you bring, the easier it is to share officiating out amongst your team!
