Lacrosse Scotland are continuing to show their support and thanks to the amazing volunteers who help deliver the sport across Scotland. This month we would like to give our thanks to volunteer, Glasgow City Women’s Head Coach, Junior Lacrosse Coach and club starter, Philippa Kyle.
Philippa has started Glasgow City Women’s Lacrosse Club this season. This is a key development for lacrosse in Glasgow and women’s lacrosse in Scotland. Not only does this give an opportunity for the community to play lacrosse, it ensure there is a pathway from junior to university and into the club environment. Without Philippa’s hard work and dedication, lacrosse in Glasgow and Scotland would not be the same. We at Lacrosse Scotland fully recognise this.
Along with starting the women’s club, Philippa has been the coach leader in our junior programmes in Glasgow which we have established this season. Along with fellow coach, Matt Hill a junior lacrosse programme is thriving at Bellahouston Academy where Philippa has been instrumental in delivering. She didn’t stop there either. In early 2017, Philippa started a second junior programme at Lourdes High School which is proving to be a big success.
To round things off, Philippa has helped Glasgow Caledonia University establish a lacrosse club. Using her great partnership and networking skills, Philippa has ensured a great start for the university club by developing a partnership with the Glasgow City female and male segments.
Philippa is forever growing lacrosse in Glasgow and we wish to thank her for her instrumental work.
