MENS > Rules and Refereeing

We play to FIL (formerly ILF) rules and regulations.

Please see the FIL website for the latest version:

http://www.filacrosse.com/?fileid=rules

Differences betweeen FIL and Scottish Men’s Lacrosse League rules:
(1) If at the end of normal time in a league match the scores are level, the result is a draw.

(2) A number of rules changes were made at the FIL General Assembly in June 2012 – these will not be implemented for the 2012-13 season. AFter review, we will communicate their implementation to all referees and clubs, so that everyone has plenty of time to prepare. Most are relatively minor, a more significant one is mandatory mouthguards. To be clear, you do not need them this season.

We have liaised with colleagues in the English Lacrosse Association, who are also delaying the implementation of these new rules – together we have recommended to BUCS that they follow our lead. If you are playing on a Wednesday, our suggestion is that you stick to last year’s rules, unless and until BUCS tell you otherwise.
