“This experience is just so exciting,” said Cosden, a tenacious attacker. “It kind of feels like a mock Olympics. I’m getting a chance to represent a country that I’m really proud of in the most fun way possible – playing my favorite sport.”
Scotland: All About Teamwork
Scotland U-19 Head Coach David Grinter provided an interview to the 2012 World Championship website.
“We want to play strong defence, the best teams have the meanest defences. From that stable base we hope to play entertaining lacrosse, but we´re not going to be relying on one or two superstars to play the game through. We want to play whole-team lacrosse. You will see a hard riding, hard defending team. Our opponents will have to earn every ball.”

The 2012 FIL U19 Men’s World Lacrosse Championships will be played in Turku, Finland between the 12th and 21st of July.
Lacrosse Scotland have named a 27-man squad for the tournament following an 18-month long training and trial process. Following a relatively successful debut at the 2011 British National Championships (BNCs) the U-19 squad will be returning to Manchester for the 2012 edition full of confidence. In addition to the Championships the team will face the Dutch U-19 side on the 6th May at Wilmslow Lacrosse Club.
The build up to the summer starts at the BNCs with the squad reconvening with their Senior counterparts in June before final preparations begin in Glasgow on July 7th.
Scotland have been drawn in the Yellow group alongside Korea and The Netherlands. More information can be found at the Facebook page and the Finnish Lacrosse website. Tickets are now on sale here.
